This week's student athlete of the week is Butler HIgh School tennis player Katherine Sylvia. A senior tri-captain on the varsity tennis team, Sylvia helped guide the Lady Tornado to the WPIAL playoffs for a second consecutive year. Katherine won a first-round playoff match last year with doubles partner Madison Kerr, and played number one doubles this season. Katherine is an honor student, a 2-year letter winner in track and field, where she held the top mark in the discus in the county last season, and she won a scholar athlete award as a member of the basketball team.
