In High School sports from yesterday…In Volleyball it was Butler remaining in a first place tie with North Allegheny following a 3 games to 1 win over Pine Richland. Abbie Druschel had 12 kills and 11 blocks, Marina Gracik added 10 kills, and Jocelyn Bachman recorded 13 digs…elsewhere it was Seneca Valley over North Hills, Knoch over Ambridge, and Freeport downing Valley… In Soccer action The Golden Tornado boys fell to Shaler 7-0, Seneca Valley got past NA 2-1, Knoch shut-out Deer Lakes 4-0, Mars dropped Kittanning 4-2, and Freeport beat Highlands in overtime 3-2… In golf, the Butler ladies continue to play well edging Hopewell by a single stroke 205-206, while Pine Richland bettered Mars by 5 strokes 197-192… On the Boys side Butler fell to Pine Richland, Seneca Valley crushed North Hills, and Mars beat Hampton… And in cross country, Butler's boys and girls defeated Pine Richland and Seneca Valley, the Rams finished second in both contests of the tri-meet.
