The electricity provider that recently bought out Allegheny Power is trying to put a fly ash dump in Beaver County.  But they won't be putting it in Greene Township.

Township supervisors voted unanimously last night against First Energy's proposal to build a dry fly ash landfill in the township.  First Energy already has a wet fly ash dump nearby of about 1300 acres, which they say is getting filled, thus necessitating the additional dump.

According to our news exchange partners at WPXI-TV, residents also say they don't want First Energy to own any more land in the township because of what it could mean to the tax base.
