New Castle-based State Police are investigating the theft of a large oil tank from a location just west of the Butler-Lawrence County border. Police say someone removed the 350-gallon tank from a location along Rosepoint Road in Slippery Rock Township sometime between Saturday, February 27th and Sunday, March 7th. The tank belongs to a 58-year-old New Castle man. No loss estimate was available. Police didn't say how the tank was removed.
